This museum (Ural Ataman Klasik Otomobil Müzesi) features a collection of sixty-three vehicles that date back to the glory days of the automobile era. Situated within a gleaming glass building, the museum takes on an airy, vibrant atmosphere that complements the nostalgia of the 1950’s and 60’s in America. The building is lite by neon panels that are characteristic of the era; the museum also contains hundreds of other industrial and automotive paraphernalia, such as fuel pumps, jukeboxes, and wheel covers.
Ural Ataman, the museum’s founder, was inspired to create such an exhibition by his childhood days, when he would drive around Bodrum with his father, mayor of the town, in their 1946 Ford.
Currently the museum is only open on Saturdays and is located inland from the coast across the road from the Metin Oktay sports center.
